Mysterious Egyptian MuseumDo you feel excited about visiting famous museums?

Then take your time reading the following as I’m going to tell you about  one of the most famous museums of the world.

Egypt is the country full of mysteries and fascinating attractions. One of such attractions that impressed very much during my trip in Cairo (the capital of Egypt) was the Egyptian museum also known as The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. This famous museum has the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities. When entering it, you feel the soul of Ancient Egypt, every item in the museum carries the mysteries of its past. It’s a place where you can get acquainted with the history of Ancient Egypt well.

On the ground floor you can see a lot of enormous statues, sarcophagi and coffins. As you continue your clockwise direction you’ll come to the most attractive places of the museum.

The world-famous Royal Mummy Room presents 27 royal mummies. This room impressed me very much, as I have never seen mummies before. It’s such an enigmatic place that may you even feel scared. Imagine you’re face to face with the rulers of Ancient Egypt.

Another marvelous attraction of the Egyptian museum is the tomb of Egyptian Pharaoh – Tutankhamun. The tomb of Tutankhamun also has artifacts of their pharaohs like golden bracelets, necklaces and other jewelry. But the most famous artifact is the pharaoh’s solid Golden Mask which covers his bandage-wrapped face. The guide told us that the tomb was twice robbed and still holds 3500 artifacts. Certainly it’s rich now but I can imagine how rich it was before.

Besides tombs of pharaohs, mummies and statues of their pharaohs, you can also find a collection of papyrus and coins. People of Egypt used to make papers from papyrus plants. You can see many Arabic, Latin and Greek inscriptions on the papyruses. The coins are also Greek, Islamic and Roman and are made of bronze, silver and gold.

You won’t see such a unique museum anywhere else in the world. This museum helped me to expand my knowledge about Egypt and its history. And if you want to see 50 centuries old great works, meet the greatest pharaohs, see the mummies and papyruses  don’t miss your chance to visit the Egyptian museum.
