In Mexico, the description is a bit more whimsical and imaginative; they describe this kind of vehicle using the term “Casa Rodante”, which means rolling house.

With the etymology of the word analyzed, let’s now delve into the advantages and some of the limitations of this vehicle. A minimal RV generally contains beds, table, food preparation and storage areas. There are also larger models, which include a full bedroom, living room and bathroom. The high-class luxury RVs may have TV satellite, Internet access, slide-out rooms, and all the other attributes, which are proper to ordinary housing.

With all these advantages, traveling in RVs solves also the problem of renting multiple motel rooms, eliminates the necessity of transporting luggage from place to place. RVs allow you to also prepare food yourself: this eventually will cost much less than eating in restaurants or hotels. In comparison with traveling in tents, RVs protect better from the weather and are much more comfortable. RV traveling can have its disadvantages as well, because if hotel luxury is what you are seeking, it’s going to fall short. Maneuvering such a large vehicle definitely would take some getting used to and there is the added issue of where to park it while not in use.
