Cape Town: The Border Of The OceansIf you were to go on a vacation to the shores of either the Atlantic or the Indian Ocean, where would you choose? If you can’t decide, there is a place where you can enjoy both of them. You can swim in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean one day and lie on the soft sands of the shores of the Atlantic Ocean the following day. It’s Cape Town.

Cape Town is situated in South Africa and is a very popular, exotic travel destination.

One of the most popular sites in Cape Town is the Table Mountain National Park. The park includes a cableway that takes tourists to Table Mountain. This mountain is one of the symbols of Cape Town and is imprinted on its flag.

If you want to enjoy the pleasant warmth of the Indian Ocean, head towards the False Bay or Cape Helderberg beaches. For the azure of the Atlantic Ocean you should go to Table Bay, South Atlantic beaches or the Atlantic Seaboard, which is also called Cape Town’s “Riviera.”

If you are a big fan of water sports like scuba driving, surfing and so on, you won’t be bored even for a minute in Cape Town. Extreme-lovers and skilled surfers should plan their trip at the end of the summer. They can freely roll with the giant waves of Hout Bay, also known as “Dungeons” to the locals, which is one of the 16 big wave spots on the earth.

Every August, Cape Town hosts the annual “Red Bull Big Wave Africa” surfing competition, which is held at Dungeons. The competition is a great event not only for the surfers but also for the spectators.

If you are interested in fauna, Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town is where you should pay a visit. You’ll witness the unbelievable variety of species of underwater fauna including marine and freshwater fish, turtles, frogs and many other creatures. The most impressive scene is the exhibit of the astonishing sharks.

If you happen to have a scuba license, you can dive in this exhibit and study the ragged-tooth fish from up close. If you visit  Boulders Beach, Simon’s Town (a village not far away from Cape Town), you can also  see some African penguins there.
