Rio de Janeiro: Tropical DestinationBrazil is a land that captures a tourist’s imagination. Brazil has a spirit of warmth and liveliness unequaled on the South American continent.

From the sandy beaches on its east coast to the tropical rain forests of the interior, this huge country offers much to see, explore and appreciate. Tourists cannot travel to the Brazilian tropical destinations without visiting Brazil’s heart and soul, Rio de Janeiro.

As the sun rises on Rio de Janeiro, another day begins in one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Soon, sunbathers will flock to the world-famous Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. Along the city boulevards, shopkeepers prepare to open their elegant boutiques.

The lively spirit of Rio penetrates even the slums in the form of music and dance. The driving samba beat echoes throughout the city from the streets of the favelas to the elegant hotels along the Avenida Atlantica.

Samba was born as a musical form during the early 1900s when a group of young Carioca musicians began to combine traditional African rhythms with Portuguese folk songs popular at the time. It is often accompanied by the samba dance.

Bustling with activity by day, Rio de Janeiro quickens its pace even more earlier after the sun sets. Festive partymakers crowd the city’s exiting nightclubs, and colorful street festivals light up the darkness. With its breathtaking setting, fascinating sights, and unique character, Rio de Janeiro is like Brazil itself, seemingly larger than life.

Visit Rio, the ultimate tropical destination, and witness golden sun rises, the annual Carnival parade and a number of other street festivals, crazy nightclubs and mesmerizing sights.
