The island is surrounded by the azure of the Caribbean Sea and has African, Asian and European influence, which is noticeable wherever you go.

Jamaica is a great place to get acquainted with the underwater fauna and flora. You may also enjoy surfing, cliff jumping or just lying on the soft sandy beaches.

One of the thrilling and gorgeous sights of Jamaica is Lover’s Leap, which is a 1700-foot high cliff. It is said that once upon a time the son of a white farmer fell in love with a slave girl, but they were forbidden to get married. They jumped over the cliff and escaped to enjoy their freedom and love.  If you are on a honeymoon, the visit to Lover’s Leap will be a very romantic experience for you. If you are single, who knows, maybe you’ll meet someone special there.

The Rockland’s Bird Sanctuary is another place worth visiting. You can actually hand-feed birds there. Tropical birds like the Red-billed Streamertail and Jamaican Mango are very friendly and may even sit on your finger to beg for a treat.

If you are a fan of reggae music, you’ll enjoy your vacation greatly, as Jamaica is the motherland of the music genre. The greatest reggae singers, like Bob Marley, were born there.

I’d recommend you plan your visit for July, so you can visit the Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, the largest festival held in Jamaica.

It’s impossible to describe all the treasures of Jamaica. You’ll have to explore it yourself. One thing is for sure: on the shores of Jamaica you’ll find a paradise full of sun and reggae.
