If you are excited about making the White Temple your next travel destination, here are some things you’ll need to know in order to have a perfect sightseeing trip.

As I already said in my previous post, the whole exterior of the White Temple is covered with small mirror-like glass pieces. When the sunshine falls on those pieces, they glow very brightly.

To enjoy the scene and not walk around with closed eyes or become blind, make sure you have eyeglasses on. Even if you are able to see clearly, after some time your eyes will hurt from brightness and the radiant white light.

Take a light scarf or a shawl along, as you’ll need to cover your shoulders and arms when entering the temple.

If you are going to stay there for a long time and need to go to the restroom, you can use the Golden Toilet. When you look at the two-stored building, the last thing you’d think it serves for is a public restroom.

But the first floor serves exactly for that aim. The second floor includes the office of the architect.

Even if you don’t need to go to the restroom, I recommend you to visit this building. It has the same architecture as the temple. The only difference is in the color and proportions. It definitely is a very beautiful site worth visiting.

There are also different gift shops not far away from the temple, where you can buy shirts, postcards, souvenirs to remember your trip forever. You can also get refreshments from the stores nearby.

The complex is in the process of construction now. A pagoda, hermitage, crematorium, chapel, museum, pavilion and a preaching hall are also in the plans of this complex.

No matter how many temples you have seen in your life, if you happen to be in Thailand once, don’t miss the chance to see this heavenly beautiful building.
