Don’t know where to travel? What about going to Greece?

Greece and the Greek Islands are of one the most lovely tourism destinations in Europe.

Greece has an ancient culture, which is considered the pride of the Greek people. The religion, traditions, music, language, sense of humor, food and wine are the key attributes of Greece culture.

Athens is a delightful city. Being a tourist who visited Greece, I would like to suggest several places to see while there:

The Acropolis

Without visiting the Acropolis, your trip to Greece will be incomplete. This place is more than just a landmark. It was honored by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.  The Acropolis is a place where the best buildings in the country of the classical Greek age are situated. The Parthenon, the Erectheion and the Temple of Athena are located there.

The  Ancient Agora

After visiting the Acropolis, go to the site of Ancient Agora. This location provides excellent views of the Acropolis. At the Ancient Agora visitors will be able to attend one of the best preserved temples of the ancient Greeks–the Temple of Hephaestus. The reconstructed ancient Greek building, the Stoa of Attalos along with its museum is also located in  Ancient Agora.

Lykavittos Hill

One of the most prominent hills in Athens is Lykavittos Hill.  At the top of the hill you can enjoy the offerings of diverse restaurants and cafes. This hill also offers a picturesque view of Athens, extending to the sea.

Go for  a Cruise

In Greece you will have a gorgeous opportunity to explore the other islands by sea, as there are various cruises that take tourists to the surrounding Greek islands such as Syros, Paros and Mykonos.

Weekend Old Athens Bike Tour

For those who want to take a tour of the ancient parts of Athens, a free bike tour will be quite enjoyable. But don’t forget to rent a bike, as each one is obliged to bring his own bicycle.

Head to the Beaches

If weather and time permit, you can also visit the beaches to the south of Athens. There are buses that take tourists to those beach destinations.

Besides visiting historical sites, you also have an opportunity for going shopping. Greece is known for its bazaars and markets where you can get great deals. Eating in the restaurants and cafes of Greece is a great pleasure. Walking is also a great way to enjoy the sights. You can go out in early morning or early evening when the weather is cooler, but always make sure the area you go to is safe. Greece may be an ancient city, but this doesn’t mean there are no bars, where you can drink and dance the whole night.
